Why
should you buy custom fitted clubs?
Many golfers hold the mistaken belief that custom-fitted golf clubs are
only for ‘better players’ or that a custom fitting should only be
considered when the golfer improves their game to a certain skill
level. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Proper fitting of the
performance specifications of golf clubs has been proven countless times
with golfers of ALL handicaps and athletic ability to maximize the
ability of the golfer. Our individual custom fitting process involves a
careful analysis to recommend specifications
of the clubheads, shafts, grips and their assembly so that the will be able to
maximize the swing movements and physical abilities of any golfer. A
custom fitted driver is key to length and accuracy of the tee. A
club that is custom fit for you will have the perfect shaft for your
swing speed and tempo. Custom fitted
irons aren't just a suggestion they are a must. If you have irons with
shafts too long or too short it will change your lie angle. Even if you
have clubs the correct length and your lie
angle is too flat or too upright, the club will cause you
to mishit the ball frequently. Without custom
fitted irons you are just throwing away strokes every game. Take a
look at our
custom fitting
page to find
out more information.
In
summary, the Best Golf Club you can buy, will maximize
your potential for distance and accuracy. The only way to get
those clubs
is to purchase a set of individually custom fitted golf clubs.
What's
the difference in custom fitted clubs and Pro-Line
Brands?
Most off-the-shelf" golf clubs, including major brands
such as Ping, Nike, Callaway and other "pro-line brands" are called OEM clubs
and are made to
standard specifications - length, lie angle, grip, all configured to
the "average" golfer with a so-called "average" height, swingspeed
and even swing characteristics. But who's
average? Most OEM companies will allow a “special order” for
shaft, shaft flex, length,
lie, grip size and sometimes club face angle if you know the specifications. That is
the ONLY way that we recommend an OEM brand. Some
brands have a
“fitting cart” so that you can perhaps determine some of the
specifications for a club
by your individual swing, mainly the loft and shaft flex.
But, a true custom fitting will take an hour or two instead of the 15 or
20 minutes using demo clubs during a demo day. Also, because we
order and inspect the shaft and clubhead, you know that you are getting
the exact loft and flex that you expect and you have been fitted for.
Are custom clubs cheaper?
It's no secret that custom clubs are available in many different price ranges. The
difference in many of these clubs is the mixture of the metals and
alloys that the golf clubhead is made with and the amount of quality control that is
used to ensure that the clubs meet the specifications. So yes,
there is a difference!
The
Duckers Lake Golf Club Fitting and Repair Shop
selects only the best clubheads for our premium line, Wishon,
Alpha, Infiniti, and SMT. We know that we can fit a golfer and make
golf clubs equal to and superior to any OEM club on the market.
We price clubheads, shafts, and other services separately, so the golfer can
decide and control the completed price. Since we don't stock an
inventory of clubheads, we are able to pass the savings to the golfer. These clubs may be priced
slightly less than a comparable OEM club.
However, the price could also be higher than a comparable OEM model depending on the shaft and other
options that the golfer decides to include.
The
beginner or infrequent golfer can buy
lower priced clubs at major big box discount stores or off the
internet. But, we have selected a group of “value priced”clubs that
while, slightly higher in price that those at major stores they
have a better shaft and grip the clubhead is better quality. In addition, we provide,
a
“mini” fitting and recommend the correct length, shaft flex and
grip so that
the clubs will the best for you.
