Putter and Wedge Fitting

The fastest path to lower golf scores is on and around the green.  While a few pros may walk into a shop and pick out a putter, most don't.  You can be sure that the men and women that play golf for a living spend as much or more effort finding just the right putter and wedge for them as their driver and irons.  Read some more about how our Putter and Wedge fitting service will help you reduce your scores.

The Putter Fitting

Why a Putter Fitting is So Important - You use the putter more than any other  club during a round during a round of golf.  The fastest way to lower scores is to improve your putting.  All golfers know that good putting can cover or make up for many bad shots with your driver and irons.  While some folks might not have the ability to hit those long booming drives or be on every green in regulation they do have the ability to become a good putter.  But, like with any golf club, you have to have the right club for you.  While putting allows more of an individual preference of stance and style, you still need a putter that's the right length and lie for your putting style and has the right loft and weight for you to achieve the optimum roll.

What Happens in a Putter Fitting - We start the process of finding the right putter for you by using a putter that can be adjusted for length, lie and loft.  You will actually make putts of various lengths so that we'll determine the best combination for you.  Then we'll select a model with the correct weight for you to help you achieve stroke stability, better distance control and enhanced feel.

Our Custom Putters

Putter Models - We feature original design models of putters from Tom Wishon Golf Technology and other designers that are sure to help you reduce your putts on the green.

Counter Balanced Putters - We also have a couple of test putters with 100 and 80 gram weights that you can try to see how counter weighting will help your feel, distance control and stroke stability.  Counter Weights can be added to your present putter.

 The Wedge Fitting

Why Have a Wedge Fitting - After the putter, the next club that can have an significant game improvement effect for the golfer, is the wedge.  Today, with the decreasing lofts in most irons, most golfers need additional wedges in their bag.  Some wedges are considered "full-shot" clubs, some "half-shot" clubs, but most are a combination between the two.  Then you must consider the bounce of the club depending on the course conditions that you play the most, thin or thick grass, and the type of sand in the bunkers, coarse or fine sand.  Unless you hit every green in regulation, having the right wedge or combination of wedges will help you to reduce your score.

What Happens in a Wedge Fitting - First, a determination is made on what wedges that are needed to fill any gaps in loft.  Then based on what is the most frequent use for the particular wedge, the correct bounce is determined.  Finally, actually hitting the wedges to determine the carry distance to see if any adjustments in loft, lie or length need to be made.

Our Wedges

We feature wedges by Wishon, SMT, Alpha, Infiniti and Eidolon Golf.  All of our wedges have CNC milled faces, not the mass produced stamped or cast grooves found on many wedges, the milled faces provides much more spin.  The Eidolon wedges feature a innovative V Sole design that helps to reduce or even eliminate those chunks, skulls, and chili dips around the green.  We have a loaner program, so you can try a wedge for a round and see if it helps your game.  If so, then we'll fit you so that you get the right length and lie.
